Renovating full time has always been a bit of a dream for Kyal and I, but the thought of doing this on National television was terrifying. It wasn’t until I came to the realisation that I would be too busy with the job at hand to worry about a camera in my face that I eventually said to Kyal, “Ok, lets do this.” I was working at the Hospital when I got the call from McGregor Casting, asking us to come in for an interview. I was so nervous I didn’t tell Kyal for almost two hours! It really does feel like yesterday that we pulled up to O’Grady St in our shiny red Suzuki and met Scotty Cam in the middle of the Street. We met the “Favs” for the first time and were so excited by what lay ahead.
One of the most frequently asked questions about our journey is ‘What has been the best part of the whole experience?’ and hands down it has to be all the amazing people we’ve met along the way. This includes, our fellow contestants, the hardworking ‘behind the scenes crew,’ our awesome tradesmen, block sponsors and all the block fans. The block crew work long hours to bring such a good show to your screens and they really did become our Melbourne family.
Overall we feel so blessed to have been chosen, and for all the opportunities that have come since; but we are certainly looking forward to watching ‘The Glass House’ without having to relive the stress we felt when we watched our season. Bring it on I say.
